Adam Lambert is gay.

Shocker. Haven’t we heard this before?

The American Idol Season 8 runner-up sets the record straight (pun intended) in the next issue of Rolling Stone."I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I'm gay." He explains: "I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I've been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner."

The Idol favorite, who finished second to Kris Allen, says, "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler. " He adds, “I’m proud of my sexuality."

Adam, 27, goes on to reveal that he had a crush on Allen during the show.

When Idol producers put him in a room to share with Allen, Lambert says his first thought was, "They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He's the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type except that he has a wife. I mean he's open-minded and liberal, but he's definitely 100% straight."

In addition to his homosexuality, Lambert shares other personal details with Rolling Stone.

At 21, he was in a European tour of the musical Hair for six months. That was when he dyed his hair black. In Germany, he started smoking pot and tried Ecstasy. But he does have limits. Among his dislikes: cocaine.

"That drug is such a reflection of the lack of self-esteem and control people have over themselves and their lives," he says.

A million moms just banned their daughters from listening to his music.

Also, stereotypes about gays annoy him. "Clay Aiken's gay, and I'm gay, and we couldn't be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we're gay. … Why can't we talk about a human community?"

Currently, Clay and Adam are having a little bit of a tiff. Play nice fellas, you are now officially on the same team.

ADAM IS GAY????? Ohhhh Noooooooo!!!!!!!

DUH??? This isn't even "Gossip". I'm sure that pretty much the whole world was already AWARE that Adam is gay, before he "came out" to Rolling Stone magazine. Pullleeez! Have people finally started to understand now, WHY he lost AI? For all you numb-skull, die-hard "Adam"-its, he lost to Kris Allen, BECAUSE he is a flaming, drug-abusing gay guy. Mainstream America clearly chose a more "mainstream" role-model. We haven't all gone to hell in a handbasket yet.

The more details that come out, (no pun intended), the less appealing Adam becomes. I don't think my teenage daughter is going to go gaga over a drunken gay guy who "makes out in a corner of the club"...I don't care HOW well he can sing! I predict he will either be a "flash-in-the-pan", and will fade quickly from public popularity......Or, he will become like a female version of Brittney Spears....(a pathetic, drunk, train wreck).

Adam Lambert

I love Adam and I got tickets to the AI concert to see him. I still love him and his talent, but isnt drugs a choice? You arent "born" having to take those. Adam draws the line at Cocaine, what a guy. I wish he said he tried those but doesnt any more. I am wondering how many little girls (teens) are going to be permitted to listen to him or would want to. I think the fact that he says he is bi-curious in the article (the whole article) is really just a throw off to keep girls interested. I ve been around long enough to see the marketing mistake he is making. Adam will be awesome for awhile but his revelation about all will probably hurt him in the long run. I hope not but Im afraid it will. I am on the fence now about him. He is so awesome but I have a real moral issue with drugs. I hope for Adam's sake he can let the drugs go. I want him to do well in the long run. I actually care about him and not just his talent and looks.

Adam being gay!!

Like we all didn't know he was gay while watching AI. Adam ur good at what u do, but I am sure Kris and his wife would want u to stay away. Good luck with ur musical carrer!

Adam Lambert

I think Adam Lambert is the most talented of ANY of the previous Idols. I will buy his music! Too bad though for all the girls. They must be very upset to find out that Adam is a pole smoker.

ADAM

I AM AN ATTRACTIVE 50 YEAR YOUNG FEMALE AND I FEEL TO EACH THEIR OWN JOURNEY IN LIFE!
BUT, I STILL THINK ADAM IS HOT!
GOOD LUCK IN ALL YOU DO ADAM.

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
