American Idol Recap: From 4 to 3

Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey comprise this season’s final four.

Taking the stages to sing with Slash and the band, Kris, again, just can’t rise to the occasion, Danny grunts and shoves out the best notes he can, which aren’t that good, while Adam and Allison own the song.

Before anyone was announced safe, Paula Abdul left her judge’s chair to perform her new single “I’m Just Here for the Music.”

We thought they didn’t allow lipsyncing on Idol.

Do they only make exceptions for judges? Because Paula did a full Ashlee Simpson and it was horrendous!

But the producers must have known that because they never showed her in close up, never cut to a shot of Simon, who was probably laughing his ass off, and kept her shrouded in smoke or shadow the entire performance.

Showing her how it’s really done was Gwen Stefani and No Doubt with “I’m Just a Girl,” which they ripped.

After 64 million votes, Ryan announced which three singers made the semi-finals and get to go home as hometown heroes.

The first safe singer is…

Kris Allen.

Who is utterly shocked and whose wife breaks down in tears.

Before anyone else was sent to safety, fifth season contestant Chris Daughtry, Idols’ other major reject success stories besides Jennifer Hudson, took the stage to give the cast offs hope and debut his new single “No Surprise.”

The second safe singer is…

Adam Lambert.

No surprise.

That leaves Allison and Danny dangling and…

Allison is sent home.

That is total bullshit!

Danny does NOT deserve to be on that stage. Allison is this year’s Daughtry. This is wrong beyond words. Hearing her sing “Cry Baby,” knowing she’s going home while suck-tastic Danny sits comfy and safe, is sickening.

Wrong wrong wrong.

Kris and Danny are unforgivably lucky and undeserving.

But Allison took herself out in true rockstar form. Making that Janis Joplin song her bitch and showing America just how wrong they were not to vote for her. She will definitely get a record deal from this season and, hopefully, eventually, the recognition she deserves.

Idol is now a boy’s club. And Adam’s the president.

Until next week, The Sauce: Out.

allison getting the boot, VOTE for Adam

I really was shocked she got the boot instead of Chris, whose time to leave was weeks ago, yet because he is cute and nice, he gets to stay way beyond his time and talent. Allison should be in the finals, and she and the obvious next idol (ADAM) should cut a record or even album soon. I didnt like Adam from the gitgo, but he just keeps getting better and better and leaving the competition further and further behind, now I cant wait to see/hear him perform. I do wish he would consider wearing his hair "elvis-style"--he looked like a 12 on a scale of 1-to-10 that nite.
Last nite Paula as well as Simon, pretty much announced him the winner, but folks really need to vote, because everyone assumes he will garner most of the votes and he will (deservedly so) win, but if everyone thinks that, he wont get many votes which would be a travesty at this point. ALSO,if you look back to last year's final, with Simon announcing David A as the obvious winner who " blew away" David Cook (which he DID, there was NO comparison between David A's near perfect performances that nite, and David Cook's merely-adequate performances), David A's fans thought he "had it made" and David Cook wound up winning. So I hate it when Simon makes these "kiss-of-death" compliments/predictions.
Just for the record, not only is he this years obviously most talented singer, I really believe he is the best singer EVER on American Idol. And, for that matter, I really cant think of any current star (or "artist" as Cara likes to say), male or female, who is his equal, never mind better than he.
I predict he will be a lasting, MAJOR singing star, as well as a major Actor.
I am not some infatuated teenybopper--I am a retiring juvenile court judge, turning 60 next month, rather conservative, and an "oldies" fan. But I am NOT senile, nor am I deaf, blind, or "dumb", so I recognise near-perfection when I see/hear it, even if it isnt "my cup of tea". Know what? I just realized that he is SO good, it doesnt even matter what his song genre of choice is, he IS my cup of tea. I cant wait for his first album.Especially if he teams up w/Allison, as I am pretty sure he will. She is the best thing to come along since Janis.
What do YOU think?
Ps--my second favorite Idol of all time is "the other" David,"Archie".

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
