Joshua Jackson (looking HOT and a little embarrassed to be there), Carrie Ann Inaba (apparently wearing a sexy version of Seinfeld’s fluffy shirt), Jay Mohr (is he drunk?) and Paula Marshall (excuse us but…who?) announced the nominees for the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday.

The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man claimed this year's top nominations for favorite overall movie and favorite action movie.

Robert Downey Jr., Harrison Ford and Will Smith will battle to the death for the title of favorite male movie star. Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Mark Wahlberg are pitted against each other for favorite leading man. We’d love to see them duke out that contest by wrestling…in jello…topless. Bale, Downey Jr. and Smith will also compete for favorite male action star. Since it’s action, we’d like to see this battle fought in a cage match.

The nominees for favorite female movie star include Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Reese Witherspoon. Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson and Queen Latifah will compete to be crowned favorite leading lady, and Cate Blanchett, Hathaway and Jolie are all nominated for favorite female action star honor. And, like they say, it’s just an honor to be nominated, right?

Queen Latifah will host the event live from LA’s Shrine Auditorium on January 7th. Who needs an Oscar when you can win a People’s Choice Award? Does anyone get slimed at this ceremony?

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
