'Avatar' Owns the Box Office

Surprising approximately no one, James Cameron's much anticipated film Avatar ruled the box office on Friday with $27 million, setting it up to easily claim the top stop this weekend.

It was, however, a pretty underwhelming opening day compared to New Moon and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which made $72 million and $62 million on their first days, respectively, earlier this year.

Avatar didn't seem to have much competition, however. The Princess and the Frog came in at a distant second with $3.4 million andd The Blind Side took third place with $3.1 million.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
