Just in time for Valentine's Day, a romantic flick led an exceptionally strong pack of films at the box office - four movies debuted to more than $20 million each this weekend, which is the first time that's happened since 2008.

On top of this high-performing heap was the new Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum flick, The Vow. The film made $41.7 million, defying industry expectations and earning itself the distinction of top opening of the year so far.

Right on its heels, however, were three other brand-new movies: Safe House, which took in $39.3 million, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which made $27.6 million, and Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace 3D, which scored $23 million.

The top five was rounded out by last week's winner, Chronicle, which added $12.3 million to its total earnings.

Immortals in 3-D is the latest 300 knockoff hitting the silver screen. Action packed, full of gore and CGI effects this film leaves us wanting some more plot. Or another scene of Frida Pinto and Henry Cavill naked in 3-D.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.
