Why must Atom Egoyan only make horribly depressing films? Adoration is yet another trip to the bummer buffet, following Egoyan's favorite topics of family secrets and lies, terrorism, both actual and emotional, and the depths of existential angst. Unlike The Sweet Hereafter, which is heartwrenching and resonant, or Where the Truth Lies which is bitter and brilliantly acted, Adoration is talky, boring and holds the audience at arm's length. It is momentarily saved by Scott Speedman's performance but one actor does not a movie make.

See It or Skip It: World's Greatest Dad
Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
