Coolio Charged with Drug Possession and Battery

Coolio has been charged with felony possession of cocaine base, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor possession of a smoking device following his arrest at LAX on Friday.

The 45-year-old rapper was stopped in the Southwest Airlines terminal at Los Angeles International Airport as he tried to go through security.

Authorities searched his baggage and allegedly found crack and a crack pipe. According to the incident report, Coolio grabbed one of the screener’s arms in an attempt to stop the search.

If convicted, he faces up to three years in state prison.

Coolio is currently free on $10,000 bail until his April 3rd arraignment.
