David Arquette Offends Latina Women

July 20, 2009 at 7:10am PST

David Arquette recently made offensive remarks about Latina women when discussing supreme court nominee judge Sotomayer with Fox News's Fox and Friends hosts.

Shame on you, David. First of all what are you doing stereotyping a group of people, and secondly why, oh why are you on that skeevy Fox and Friends? Gross.

In case you didn't catch it in the above video, Arquette said, "I think Latina women are, I mean, it depends on the woman, but I think they are very, they have great judgment, but there are some that are just nuts. I'm just saying."

Co-host of the morning show Gretchen Carlson interjected that his wife Courtney Cox is not a Latina, and he responded, "But I'm from Los Angeles so we know all about the Latina women, " complete with an added accent in the end. You know you're in trouble when the Fox and Friends hosts, who were visibly uncomfortable during the exchange, come off as more classy than you.

Arquette followed up with an official apology for the incident: "My intent was to be humorous and not offensive. I have nothing but love and respect for Latina women and women in general of all cultural backgrounds." He went on to talk extensively about his charity work and to say that he has "grown up with a deep and profound love for the Latino culture."

Ay caramba!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
