Ethan Zohn is hoping to be a real life survivor.
The soccer player, who outwitted, outplayed and outlasted the competition to win Survivor: Africa, is battling cancer.
On April 30th, Zohn, 35, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After months of unexplained itching and night sweats, which were originally thought to be a skin condition, doctors discovered a swollen lymph node under his left clavicle.
A CT scan revealed a mass on the left side of his chest, which is a rare form of the disease called CD20-positive Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Zohn began chemotherapy last Friday.
Hodgkin’s disease is a cancer of the body’s lymphatic system with survival rates as high as 90 percent.
Both Zohn and his longtime girlfriend, Survivor: The Amazon winner Jenna Morasca, 27, lost a parent to cancer, but they’ve vowed to stay strong and side-by-side to fight it.
Our thoughts are with you, Ethan. Get well soon.
