Fox has announced plans for a new reality show called More to Love where “average looking” women will vie for the affections of a man producers describe as a “Kevin James-type.”
Why does this feel exploitative already?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Bachelor’s executive producer Mike Fleiss will team with Mike Darnell, Fox’s president of alternative programming, on the project.
“For six years it’s been skinny-minis and good-looking bachelors, and that’s not what the dating world looks like,” Darnell tells the Hollywood Reporter.
Riiiight, but the last time you have regular looking people on TV, they called it Average Joe and they paraded normal people around like freaks.
Even the title makes us wary. Why not call it Real Love? The way their spinning it, it's coming off like Friday Night at Outback Steakhouse with a Bunch of Losers.
More to Love makes us want to watch it less.
