A Gossip Girl themed clothing line has been shelved because bosses at the Target store were nervous about the show's raunchy reputation.
Designer Anna Sui's new line with the clothing giant is still going ahead, but will not be linked to the hit teen drama, entering its third season.
"One of Target's top executives got nervous about being that closely associated with the show, given the debauchery its characters get into," an unnamed source told the New York Daily News.
The new line of clothes was set to be featured in an episode of the show, which stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick.
But Target bosses pulled the plug on the shoot at the last minute, according to the Daily News.
"They can't believe Target would bail on them, especially after publicly announcing the collaboration," the insider continued.
"It's Target's loss, because the line would have sold better if it had played a part in the show."
This is so true. Target would have made bank with the GG name.
Sorry B, xoxo
