Despite battling a stormy sea of mixed reviews (The Hollywood Reporter called it "A wearying onslaught of action and effects,” while Variety assured us "The world can rest easy. The old magic still works ... Mission accomplished.") Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull premiered at Cannes last night and received a hero’s welcome: a four minute standing ovation.
We’ll tell you what we thought of it a little later this week but we can tell you that Cate Blanchett looked ravishing on the red carpet, as did Karen Allen, who seemed thrilled to be back in the Indy fold (she was the love interest in Raiders of the Lost Ark). Shia LaBeouf, as always, looked bored, sullen and unappreciative. What is his damage?
Harrison Ford arrived with Calista Flockhart on his arm. Is it possible he’s becoming even more handsome? They brought Old Hollywood glamour and style while radiating heat. Meow! These two have chemistry!
