The New York Times Screen Test series interviewed James Franco and we were blown away by how charming he was.

We’ve never been a fan of Franco’s. When we’ve dealt with him on a personal level, he’s always been a pompous asshole, but, ever since seeing him in Milk, we find ourselves oddly intrigued, even, dare we say, seduced.

And his self-deprecating candor in the interview might have inflamed the situation.

When asked what inspired him as an actor, he said, “I have to say, it’s embarrassing, but I used to watch 90210 and just thought that was the coolest thing.”

He also says kissing Sean Penn in Milk “was uncomfortable and not that fun,” before adding, “When I saw Spicoli I just wanted to make out with him!”

He also says that even though he’s 30, he still wants to become a man in the traditional Jewish sense.

“Technically I’m Jewish, my mother’s Jewish. I wasn’t raised Jewish and I do feel a little deprived that I didn’t get to go to Hebrew school. One of my plans is to actually have a bar mitzvah, I know people who do it in their 30s, probably with a Spider-Man or Green Goblin theme.”

Secretly, we hope we get invited.

Shy Franco

Seems some people mistake shyness for being pompous. It's obvious James Franco is NOT comfortable in the spotlight. He's very soft-spoken & shy which turns a lot of women's heads (not to mention how darn handsome the guy is!) while causing others to say he's boring or conceited. I've seen & read enough of his interviews to have this take on him. He's said it himself that one reason he took to acting was to help break out of that shyness. It's working - here & there!

yeahhhh...nope I'm gonna go

yeahhhh...nope I'm gonna go with asshole. Extremely intelligent-but asshole

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
