Jennifer Hudson to Play Winnie Mandela

Jennifer Hudson has scored her first leading role since winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Dreamgirls in 2007. She will be playing Winnie Mandela, Nelson Mandela's controversial ex-wife.

Winnie campaigned for her husband's release for twenty-seven years, but they separated in 1992.

This news comes right as Clint Eastwood's new Nelson Mandela biopic, Invictus, is about to come out starring Morgan Freeman.

We're psyched for J. Hud, and we totally think she will pull it off.
