He may play a big, burly vampire on-screen, but in real life, he's just a big softie.

Twilight star Kellan Lutz tells Vanity Fair magazine that he makes time in his busy schedule to fly home and see his dog on the weekends.

“I’ve been on a plane every weekend trying to come back to L.A. to see my dog," the actor and former model says.  "I feel like I’ve been so blessed to be working, but everything I shoot is out of L.A., so I don’t really have too much time to spend with my number one love: my puppy. (She’s not really a puppy — she’s five — but she’s close to my heart.)"

I think that sound you just heard was women all across America letting out a collective "Awwwwww!"
