Wahlberg says “No F#@king Chance” To Reuniting with The Funky Bunch

June 12, 2008 at 12:05pm PST

MTV Films interviewed Mark Wahlberg for his new movie The Happening and he was shockingly honest and incredibly funny when asked about skeletons in the family closet.

When asked what he thinks of brother Donnie reuniting with his New Kids on the Block bandmates, Mark says, “Whatever floats your boat. He’s the most talented guy I’ve ever worked with in the music industry. If anybody can pull it off, he can. But when people ask me if I’m coming back, the answer is not a f*#king chance. But hip-hop is a young man’s game. If the Rolling Stones can be wheeled out on wheelchairs then why can’t the New Kids go out there?”

The Funky Bunch is also hitting the comeback trail but don't expect to see Marky Mark strutting around in his Calvins singing "Good Vibrations".

“They asked me if I would partake and I had to decline,” he continued. “Part of me would love to run around and act like a freaking a–hole again but I can’t do that. I’ve got two kids. I saw something on VH1 or something about me in the 90s and I thought, oh my God, how am I going to explain this to my kids? None of the stupid things my parents did were documented. Now I have to answer for all the stupid shit I did. I have a few years to think about how to finesse it but I do think about it on a daily basis. If they see it at the wrong time, my credibility is just shot.”

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
