This is what happens when you’re penniless…
They sell your glittery glove.
Memorabilia from Michael Jackson is going up for auction in April and is expected to exceed $1.5 million in sales.
The pop superstar is selling about 2,000 personal belongings as part of an agreement with Colony Capital LLC who took over the singer’s $24.5 million debt along with his former home, Neverland Ranch. He was unable to keep up with the $3 million-a-year running costs and was forced to sell the $25 million estate.
Now items including his iconic glittery glove covered in Swarovski crystals, a pair of scissorhands from the film Edward Scissorhands, a golf cart with a painting of MJ as Peter Pan, his tour bus from 1997 and even the gate to Neverland Ranch will be auctioned off to help repay some of his debt.
A preview of the auction items will be held from March 24th to 29th at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York’s Times Square. The sale itself will take place from April 22nd to 25th and will be broadcasted on television.
Unfortunately, Bubbles will not be up for grabs. Nor will LaToya or Jermaine.
However, we hear they might throw in a complimentary bottle of Jesus Juice with every purchase over $50K.
