Girls Just Want to Have Remakes

If you happen to have an idea for a movie that's never been made before, now might be a good time to move to LA.

Because at the rate Hollywood is going, they're going to run out of cherished films from the past to remake.

The latest in a string of childhood memory butcherings is a remake of 1985's Girls Just Want to Have Fun, the movie which originally starred Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker, which is being developed as a Miley Cyrus vehicle.

The original film was a dance movie a la Footloose, which is also being remade, about two friends who desperately want to get on a TV dance show.

Isn't it a little too early to be bringing back the 80s in full-force?

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable.
