Britney Spears to Perform at AMAs?

Continuing her road to redemption, Britney Spears is reportedly preparing for a surprise performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

It better be more exciting than her semi-surprise appearance to open this year’s super sucky VMAs.

“They have these surprises that 75 people on the crew know about, but they won’t tell the host," said Jimmy Kimmel, the show's host. "Apparently, there is some big surprise. I sent ... the producer an e-mail yesterday and he was like, ‘I can’t tell you.’”

Rihanna works a full-on Mr. T look complete with Mohawk and pounds of bling as she chats with some friends at Cafe Med Restaurant in West Hollywood.

The worst part of this whole look? Riri’s creepy colored contacts. She’s looking a little possessed.

Former Full House star Jodie Sweetin, 26, has separated from her husband of one year, Cody Herpin, 31.

Sweetin married the movie set designer in July 2007, weeks after meeting him for the first time, and seven months ago they welcomed a daughter named Zoie.

At least Sweetin has a sweet book deal to keep her warm at night. She recently signed a six-figure contract for a forthcoming memoir about her struggle to overcome a severe drug and alcohol problem.

Travis Barker Files Plane Crash Lawsuit

Travis Barker has filed a lawsuit blaming the pilots and defective equipment for a plane crash left him and DJ AM severely burned and killed four others.

The lawsuit, which was jointly filed by the mother of Barker’s bodyguard, Charles “Che” Still, who died in the crash, alleges the pilots “negligently decided to abort” the takeoff when the Learjet’s tires failed in September.

Universal has ensured that Jason Bourne, Matt Damon’s highly successful action franchise, will continue to live on.

After creating an overall deal with the estate of The Bourne Identity author, Robert Ludlum, the studio now has exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and a first look agreement for any other Ludlum novels.

That means we can expect to see The Bourne Provocation, Intimidation, Infatuation, whatever.

Haley Joel Osment’s Broadway Run May Be Done

This isn’t going to do much to help him clamor out of the past-his-prime-child-actor box.

Haley Joel Osment’s run on Broadway in David Mamet’s American Buffalo alongside John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer is heading for the record books… as one of the shortest plays ever to run on the Great White Way.

After less than a week, the show is set to close on Sunday unless ticket sales dramatically improve. Ouch.
