Russell Brand to Remake Arthur

Russell Brand is reportedly in talks to reprise Dudley Moore’s iconic alcoholic, philanderer Arthur in a remake of the 1981 hit about a fun-loving playboy who has to choose between his family fortune and his working-class girlfriend.

The late Moore won a Best Actor Oscar nomination for the original.

We’re not a huge fan of remakes, especially when the original is so damn good, but Russell could really let his freak flag fly with the role and create an homage that Moore would be both pleased with and proud of.

We approve.
