Will Aidan Be Back for Sex Sequel?

December 1, 2008 at 2:33pm PST

Former Sex and the City star John Corbett says he wants to reprise his role as Aidan for the film’s sequel.

Duh. Of course he does. Can you imagine how fat the residual checks are? The first Sex movie may have sucked, but it made BANK!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall recently confirmed plans for a follow up to the crappy film, which followed up the fabulous show. Corbett, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s fiancé, Aidan Shaw (who didn’t absolutely love Aidan?), wants back in.

John says he wants Aidan to win Carrie back from Mr. Big, who she married at the end of Sex and the City: The Movie.

“I’d relish that moment more than you can ever imagine,” he said. “There may even be a murder involved. It’s payback. I think Mr. Big deserves it. It’d make a great ending to the movie.”

Aidan and Pete, back in the house.

That might just be enough to get us back to the movie theater for a sequel after being burned so badly the first time.

As long as she doesn't break his heart again...

I would LOVE to see Carrie end up with the only truly decent man she ever met and loved. She put that poor guy through the wringer.

I never shifted the feeling that she ended up with the wrong guy. The final episodes in Paris were wonderful but I hated that it was Big, not Aidan.

Loved the show and hated the movie. It would be great if they could make a second movie that mirrors the sassy, funny, sexy feel of the show more.

Yes but

I hope it didn't sound like I didn't like Aidan. The whole reason people liked him (at least why i did) was because he actually loved Carrie very much and wanted to get married unloike Big who kept saying yes i love you, no i don't (they were both kind of like that), but now Aidan is married and his character doesn't seem like the kind of person who would end his marriage for an old gf who cheated on him, especially not now since he has a baby. That's why I'm confused. It would be fun to see him in the sequel but I don't like the fact that he wants to try and win Carrie back, it just doesn't seem like his character.

We're guessing people are

We're guessing people are willing to change their character when millions of dollars get involved. John Corbett wants to ride that Gravy Train too.

Baby?

Aidan is also married now and has a baby though...Tate.

Season 6, episode 1

Baby?

Aidan is also married now and has a baby! Tatter tot!
Season 6, episode 1, To Market to Market anyone?

Sometimes marriages break

Sometimes marriages break up. And of course we remember Tate. Carrie saw them right before she met Burger (our least favorite bf besides Petrovsky) for a movie. When Aidan turned and was wearing the snuggly we almost passed out. Since Carrie says she doesn't want kids, maybe that could be the big plot line of the film. Who cares? Aidan was always the best. We want him back!

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
