We know it seemed like the big film awards show season just ended (Don't forget the Emmy Awards tonight!), but there's already a new Best Picture favorite.

The Oscars are all about looking fabulous for Hollywood’s biggest night.

So who deserves accolades and who should’ve stayed home and watched the show in their sweatpants?

The Best:

Last night, the red carpet belonged to Miley Cyrus. That’s right, we said it. Miley Cyrus is en fuego! We are obsessed with her Zuhair Murad dress! It had elements of Marion Cotillard’s fish scaley Gaultier dress from last year mixed with the fabulous petal ballgowns from the 1940s and 50s. Best dress of the night!

Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at the Academy Awards, winning eight of the ten awards it was nominated for. Milk's star and writer were also lauded while The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which had the most nods going into the night, twelve in total, but was only recognized for its visual and technical achievements.

And the winners are...

When Hugh Jackman took the stage at last night’s Oscars, we were skeptical. But Wolverine delivered!

Performing on the most beautiful Oscar stage we’ve ever seen, Hugh slipped into a low-budget song and dance number that was the best opening the Oscars have had since the Billy Crystal years.

The producer’s decision to “downsize” the show because of the recession ended up inspiring the most creative, funny, well-executed kick off the show has had in recent memory.

And the new host of the 81st annual Academy Awards is…

Hugh Jackman?

Oookay.

Hugh hosted the Tony Awards in 2004 and did a very nice job, but the Oscars?

The show’s producer, Laurence Mark says Jackman landed the gig “because we want the ceremony to be fun. He can hold the screen and he can hold a stage. It doesn’t hurt that he looks amazing in a tuxedo and he’s the Sexiest Man Alive.”

Will Jackman be a Jon Stewart or a Dave Letterman?

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
