We were afraid this would happen.

Paramount Pictures confirmed yesterday that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford will be starring in High School Musical director Kenny Ortega's remake of Footloose, which was originally supposed to feature Zac Efron.

Like we've already said: We love Chace on GG but he is no Zac-y Pooh or Kevin Bacon, and we're not sure he can do Ren McCormack justice.

Amanda Bynes is returning to TV.

We guess Sydney White didn’t launch her career the way some might have hoped. We still love She’s the Man though.

Amanda has been cast in ABC’s newest comedy pilot, Canned.

It’s a show about a group of friends who all get fired the same day after a corporate shakeup.

Awesome. That’s just what people want to watch in a recession when unemployment rates are skyrocketing.

We can already see the Variety headline: “Canned gets Canned.”

Celebrities, including Amanda Bynes, Tori Spelling, Patricia Arquette and many others, took to the runway today to kick off New York Fashion Week and raise money and awareness for a great cause at this year's Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show.

The show, held in Bryant Park, is meant to raise awareness about heart disease, the leading cause of death among women in America.

Last night the Critics' Choice Awards were handed out in Santa Monica. We already know who won awards but who deserves a rave for their style sense and who left the red carpet in shame?

Amanda Bynes: Tsk tsk tsk. We love Amanda Bynes, but her second skin, hot pink Herve Leger dress is way too Streetwalker Barbie. She’s the second coming of Mariah Carey in that outfit… and that is NOT a good thing.

Last night Amanda Bynes was seen leaving Crown Bar with Doug Reinhardt, former fame whoring Hills boy toy whose previous claim to fame was being the son of the guy who innovated the frozen burrito. The pair reportedly met at Teddy's before Thanksgiving and now Amanda is smitten.

Zac Efron celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday with a small dinner party at Pace in Laurel Canyon (their cedar planked salmon with roasted veggies and green beans is one of our favorite meals in LA).

Zac toasted his legality with a group of friends and family that included his parents and brother, girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, who helped plan the party, High School Musical costars Monique Coleman and Ashley Tisdale, The Tiz’s backup dancer boyfriend Jared Murillo, and his Hairspray co-stars Amanda Bynes and Brittany Snow.

New Line Cinema has made a deal with Hairspray creator John Waters to write a sequel to the 2007 hit musical feature that we are OBSESSED with! On board to return are director-choreographer Adam Shankman and Tony-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who will write all new songs for the film.

No cast has been signed yet, but the studio hopes to reunite the original cast in the film which could be in theaters by mid-July 2010.

Bitten is no more.

Steve & Barry’s, the low priced apparel chain that got a major boost from Sarah Jessica Parker’s line, Bitten, and Amanda Bynes' juniors line, Dear, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

We adore Amanda. She’s a child star who isn’t a total nutjob train wreck. She’s a great actress who never seems snobbish or uppity. And she’s a celebrity who never whines about her stardom but accepts all the pressures that come with her job with grace, humility and a sense of humor.

She is such a class act. We wish she was our friend.
