America really got it wrong last night. But before we get into the negative, let's congratulate the deserving members of the American Idol Top Twelve.
Tonight we find out who's making it to the big stage on American Idol in the top twelve. But first four more people will be eliminated, including two from last night's top eight boys. So how did they do?
We're only one more day away from knowing who makes the cut in the top twelve on American Idol. The boys will sing for their supper tonight, but last night how did the girls do?
Well, they did as expected, which means that a few were really good and a few were really bad. The judges stressed at every step of the way that last night. Was. The. Most. Important. Night. Of. Their. Lives.
To say that the top ten girls stepped up their game last night on American Idol is the understatement of the year. It really is the girls' year, and the boys better just get out of the way.
The show started with the ailing Crystal Bowersox who showed why she's here in the first place. She sang CCR's "Long As I Can See The Light," and the judges were right on when they said she showed that she's an artist and not just a singer.
Last night on American Idol, we got a surprise. The girls were supposed to perform, but Crystal Bowersox was rushed to the hospital and so they switched to the boys instead. We worried they wouldn't be prepared, but they actually did all right.
Some of them did, anyway.
Last night the top twelve boys took the stage on American Idol, and it was bad. It was really bad.
American Idol is officially back, as the top twelve girls took the stage live last night for the first time. But the judges were not impressed.
Simon pointed out correctly that a lot of the girls were trying to sound like Duffy instead of actually coming out and being who they are. (The judges did pick these people, so what can we say?)
Is America ready for more primetime Gaga goodness?
Simon Cowell says he wants Lady Gaga to be a mentor on American idol.
When asked whom he would like to see on the top-rated show, he replied, "I think we should have Lady Gaga because she is the most relevant pop artist in the world at the moment. So I think she should be number one. And I've met her. She is very smart. I like her."
Are you ready to exercise your vote as an American citizen? Next week voting begins on American Idol, and we couldn't be more excited. Tuesday night the Top 12 girls perform, and Wednesday it will be the Top 12 boys, as the audience begins to narrow down the field.
If you need to make a call, can you please wait until after Adam Lambert's concert?
Desperate to keep himself in the news, the other night during a concert in New York, Lambert interrupted his show to call out someone in the audience who was talking loudly.
"Sorry, can you get off your phone," he said. "You're yelling into it."
And then he told her, "you're not watching TV, honey. It's a live show."
