At Last

Etta James is the BOMB!

We’ve loved her for years, but the fact that she called out Beyonce Knowles for a beat down makes her fabulous beyond measure.

Beyonce and her faux-humility – to cover the raging God Complex – get on our last nerve.

Last night American Idol premiered with a new judge and a kinder, gentler audition round.

Rather than watching head cases massacre Etta James’ “At Last,” Idol decided to focus on people who can actually, Gasp, sing and a judge who sincerely wants to, whaaaa?; critique and judge.

Where’s the fun in that?

Instead of car-wreck antics from the contestants, most of the premiere drama came from the Idol regulars.

Grammy winning R & B legend Etta James, 69, performed at the Hollywood Bowl last night and she looked incredible!

She’s half the woman she used to be!

Since gastric bypass surgery in 2004, Etta has lost over 200 pounds. Her 1961 ballad, “At Last”, which is continually butchered at American Idol auditions and has been many a wedding couple’s first dance song, is still James’ calling card and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
