Barbie just celebrated her 50th birthday, but who says she's over the hill?
For the first time ever, Mattel has greenlit a live-action movie about everyone's favorite doll.
"Barbie may be the most popular girl in the world, and has always been a wonderfully aspirational figure, so we must do her proud," producer Laurence Mark said.
Two American legends, Elvis and Barbie, have joined forces to create these dolls of the King and wife Priscilla Presley on their wedding day.
The dolls, which have already sold out online, were created by Mattel for Elvis Week 2008, an annual weeklong fan pilgrimage to Graceland to mark the anniversary of Elvis’ death (August 16th, 1977). They recreate the couple’s famous marriage ceremony on May 1st, 1967, at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Priscilla herself oversaw all the dolls to insure they accurately captured all the details.
