Despite trying to keep the news hush-hush, friends and family threw Jennifer Hudson, 27, a baby shower over the weekend in Chicago to celebrate  the expected arrival of her first child.

She is engaged to boyfriend David Otunga, who you may remember from VH1’s I Love New York. And who is now pursuing a pro-wrestling career. Really? Good luck with that.

Reports claim the Grammy-winning actress is seven months along.

With everything that gal has been through, she deserves all the happiness in the world.

Congrats to the mom to be!

Grey’s Anatomy star Chandra Wilson is trading in scrubs and scalpels for singing in sequins.

Chandra will be spending her summer hiatus on Broadway.

Wilson is joining the cast of Chicago as Matron “Mama” Morton for four weeks starting June 9th through July 5th.

And everyone knows, when you’re good to Mama, Mama’s good to you.

Before she joined the ABC show, Chandra appeared in the Broadway productions of Avenue Q and On the Town so this is second nature to her.

The chant “Jerry Jerry Jerry” will soon be heard echoing through London’s West End.

Springer is heading across the pond to appear in Chicago.

Jerry will headline in the role of lawyer Billy Flynn and has already started singing lessons to prepare although he admits, “You don’t need a Pavarotti for that role. I think I can carry a tune.

“I’m going to try to respect the traditions of the theatre and of the show. I’m going to work hard at it, I’m going to really rehearse and give it my best.”

We love In the Heights.

We worship In the Heights.

We have it playing on our iPod and stuck in our heads most hours of the day.

It's reverted us back to the Rent-loving theater geek we were in 1996.

And now Jenny from the frickin’ Block wants to defile the best thing on Broadway in years.

J-Lo was spotted going to see the Tony award winning show twice in one week before going to dinner with the musical’s producer Meryl Poster at Nobu 57 on Friday evening.

Catherine Zeta-Jones hasn’t really been on the Hollywood scene lately. The 39-year old seems perfectly content to hang with her husband Michael Douglas on their vast Bahamian property and enjoy the good life. Can you blame her?

But it looks like Zeta-Jones might be coming out of semi-retirement to play Cleopatra in the upcoming 3D Hollywood epic Cleo. You know homegirl can work a blunt bang and heavy cateye makeup.

Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, is in talks to play Mark Antony.

Can you think of anything better than Zac Efron hovering over you, panting and drenched in sweat?

We can’t…that’s why when High School Musical 3: Senior Year begins you know you're in for a good time.

Disney’s juggernaut makes the leap to the big screen for the original cast’s last outing, and they’ve pulled out all the stops as the Wildcats are all in this together for one last hurrah.

Whoa!

Did Hayden Panettiere get cast in Chicago and not announce it? What the hell is she thinking? Hayden arrived at a taping of MTV’s TRL to promote the return of her NBC show Heroes on September 22nd in full on Roxy Hart regalia.

Last week, Tim Gunn said he thought Miley Cyrus looked a little “too tarty”.

If Miley is tarty, what’s Hayden? An outfit like this practically begs the question “How much?”

And Hayden is only 18! Oy.

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
