The local politician and paramedic questioned yesterday in the John Travolta extortion case were arrested by Bahamian police today.
Senator Pleasant Bridgewater has been held since Thursday in connection with the case and a second suspect, ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne, was detained today.
They should both be ashamed of themselves for preying on someone’s grief in such a horrifically amoral way.
This is too sick, twisted and sad for words.
Rumors have been swirling that John Travolta was contacted by attempted extortionists who claimed to have taken photos of Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett as he lay dying in the ambulance en route to a Bahamian hospital earlier this month.
Reportedly Travolta was given the chance to purchase the photos first, otherwise they would be sold to the highest bidder.
Two men, one believed to be a local politician from Grand Bahama and the other a man connected to the ambulance service, were questioned by police yesterday.
