Hollywood actress Kelly Preston is to speak out publicly for the first time about the death of her son.
Jett Travolta, Preston's son with husband and actor John Travolta, died suddenly of a seizure at the age of 16 while vacationing with his family in the Bahamas in January.
The Travoltas have so far grieved in private but in October Preston, 46, has agreed to speak about her loss at the California Governor's Conference for Women.
This is too sick, twisted and sad for words.
Rumors have been swirling that John Travolta was contacted by attempted extortionists who claimed to have taken photos of Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett as he lay dying in the ambulance en route to a Bahamian hospital earlier this month.
Reportedly Travolta was given the chance to purchase the photos first, otherwise they would be sold to the highest bidder.
Two men, one believed to be a local politician from Grand Bahama and the other a man connected to the ambulance service, were questioned by police yesterday.
Mourners will gather today at the Ocala, Florida home of John Travolta and Kelly Preston for a private memorial service to honor their 16-year-old son, Jett, who died on January 2nd after having a seizure.
Local florists say they’ve been inundated with calls from well-wishers wanting to send condolence bouquets to the family.
We didn’t send flowers, but we do send our deepest sympathies. Losing a child is unimaginable.
John Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett reportedly died from a seizure last Friday.
He’d long suffered from a seizure disorder, sometimes having as many as five grand mal seizures a week. He’d once kept them in check by medication but it had recently stopped being effective.
Last night Jett’s body was flown back to Florida, where the Travolta family has a home, for the funeral.
Even though knowing the cause sheds light on the tragedy, we doubt it does anything to alleviate the pain the Travolta family is enduring.
Our deepest sympathies go out to them.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston posted a statement on Sunday thanking fans and supporters for the well wishes which have flooded in since their 16-year-old son Jett’s tragic death in the Bahamas on Friday.
