Frost/Nixon star and Kate Beckinsale’s baby daddy, Michael Sheen, has joined the cast of New Moon.

Director Chris Weitz has revealed the Oscar-nominee will play Aro, the leader of the Volturi, an Italian vampire clan that will also include Dakota Fanning

They are pulling some serious caliber actors for the Twilight sequel.

That gives us hope for the film's quality, given its tight schedule and insanely fast turnaround time.

Kate Beckinsale had high hopes that she would secure an Academy Award nomination for her new movie Nothing But The Truth but now that the film’s distributors have filed for bankruptcy, that’s pretty much a dead issue.

Of course, her performance as a reporter who goes to jail rather than name a source was pretty terrible as well, but that’s beside the point.

In a thinly veiled retelling of New York Times reporter Judy Miller’s life story, Nothing But the Truth is a brutally dull political drama starring Kate Beckinsale as a reporter who, like Miller, is jailed after she refuses to name her source in a newspaper article outing a CIA operative.

Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and Kate Beckinsale celebrated Kingston Rossdale’s 2nd birthday in Malibu on Monday. Gwen and Gavin’s son Kingston was given the full rock 'n’ roll treatment, including two parties (one yesterday, one today), ponies, cowboys and cowgirls. Celebrity guests at the first party included Joel Madden, his daughter Harlow, Victoria Beckham and her son Cruz, while Kate Beckinsale frolicked on the beach with her daughter and husband at the second party.

Gwen and Gavin are expecting their second child later this summer.

Victoria Beckham celebrated her 34th birthday for the third time this weekend.

Victoria and her husband, David Beckham, even opened their hearts and invited Tom and Katie who seemed to be in friend exile for the past few months. The party was held in Santa Monica at Via Veneto.

Happy Birthday, Posh.
Although today is her real birthday, Victoria Beckham kick started the festivities for her 34th birthday last night, with handsome husband and new BFF, Kate Beckinsale. Posh, Becks, Kate and her husband, director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld), met up with Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria at her new Hollywood restaurant Beso.

Katie Holmes was nowhere to be seen.

Oh NO! Posh Spice has a new Bestie:
BFF’s Katie Holmes and Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham, have been on the outs for a few months now and it looks like Victoria found a replacement, Underworld star Kate Beckinsale. The two were spotted at a soccer game of her smokeshow husband, David Beckham, over the weekend.

NOOOOOO!!!!

We’ve liked Beckinsale since she was in Much Ado About Nothing back in 1993. Now she’s going to get Beckham-tainted!

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
