Veteran Hollywood actor Karl Malden, 97, an Academy Award winner and died on Wednesday of natural causes.
"Karl lived a rich, full life," said Academy of Arts and Motion Pictures president Sid Ganis. "He has the greatest and most loving family, [and] a career that has spanned the spectrum of the arts from theatre to film and television, to some very famous commercial work."

According to Me and Marlon, a new book by Marlon Brando’s longtime personal assistant Alice Marchak, the acting legend battled the eating disorder bulimia for most of his adult life.
Marchak claims the star regularly gorged on food only to vomit it back up in secret. She writes, "We'd eat dinner and then Marlon would go to the bathroom - and come back and order another meal."
She alleges she discovered his bulimia when she found him passed out in a bathroom after having hemorrhaged.
Oliver Platt is returning to Broadway as Nathan Detroit in the 2009 revival of Guys and Dolls. Platt made his New York stage debut in 2006's Shining City, which earned him a nomination for the Best Actor Tony Award.
Platt is stepping into the role Frank Sinatra famously played alongside Marlon Brando in the 1955 movie.
