Zac Efron's making his first foray into the world of "serious acting" next month when his new movie Me and Orson Welles comes out, and apparently he's happy with the results.

He told Nylon for Guys as much. He says: "It’s the first time I’ve ever watched a movie [that I’m in] and in the end I’m like, ‘OK! I didn’t check my watch once!'"

Zac-y Pooh has been named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time Magazine.

And he’s in good company.

President Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bono and Oprah are also on this year’s list.

Zac-y Pooh is a vision in brown at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of his new film, Me and Orson Welles.

Efron plays an inexperienced teenager cast in the Mercury Theatre production of Julius Caesar directed by a young, charismatic Orson Welles in 1937. Quite a departure from the delectably fluffy halls of East High and the all-singing, all-dancing, all-Disney world of High School Musical.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
