Nicollette Sheridan got the boot from Desperate Housewives to save money.

That’s what the show’s creator Marc Cherry says, and it doesn’t get any more horse’s mouth than that.

Cherry says he was forced by ABC to cut costs, and that meant cutting Sheridan’s character Edie because her character had run its course.

Last week we told you we spotted Nicollette Sheridan out at Casa Vega with her new man.

We didn’t know who it was, but one thing was certain: It wasn’t David Spade.

Now, her mystery man’s identity has been revealed.

His name is Steve Pate and he’s a financier.

A nice, normal, super-rich, slightly younger man. (He’s 39, she’s 45).

We like it.

Last night we went to a movie with our dear friends John, Heidi and Jenny.

But it wasn’t just any movie…it was Dirty Dancing, on the big screen!

Nicollette Sheridan is exiting Desperate Housewives.

Nicollette is pulling a Katherine Heigl/T.R. Knight and bowing out of Housewives, another ABC juggernaut now steadily in decline.

They’re all ditching like rats on a sinking ship.

Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have ended their engagement.

This is the second time the couple has broken up; they originally dated for five years starting in 1992.

The former straggly haired singer, 55, and Desperate Housewives star, 44, got back together in 2005 and have been engaged since March 2006.

Poor Michael. Nicolette will be making out with Kenny G before the weekend is over.

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
