Redmond O'Neal's never-ending jail-rehab cycle continues.

Yesterday, Redmond, 24, the son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the recently deceased actress Farrah Fawcett, pled no contest to bringing drugs into a prison facility this past April. He will be released from jail and sent to a year-long rehab program instead.

Farrah Fawcett's friends and family gathered to bid her farewell in downtown Los Angeles yesterday.

As a hearse bearing Fawcett’s body pulled up to the church, longtime partner Ryan O’Neal, Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart, and a handful of stars waited outside to receive her.

Actress Farrah Fawcett, 62, who became one of the best known faces in Hollywood for her 1970s role in Charlie’s Angels, died earlier today, after a three-year battle with cancer.

Her long-time partner, Ryan O’Neal, father of her son, Redmond O'Neal, released the following statement:

Farrah Fawcett was recently hospitalized and placed in the intensive care unit.

Her partner, Ryan O’Neal and other family members and friends have reportedly gathered to say their final goodbyes.

Ryan O’Neal has given his first interview about his longtime partner Farrah Fawcett’s valiant but devastating battle with cancer for the past two and a half years.

He reveals how the anal cancer long ago spread to other parts of her body, including her liver, saying, “She stays in bed now. The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended.”

Ryan O’Neal has chosen to give his son, Redmond, some tough love and let him sit in jail waiting for his court date.

Redmond O’Neal, 24, was arrested on Sunday and charged with a felony count of drug possession.

And he already has a drug possession charge pending in a separate case.

And he was recently kicked out of rehab for failing a drug test.

Radar is reporting that Redmond O’Neal was in possession of heroin and Xanax when he was arrested at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California yesterday.

Redmond, the son of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal and currently hospitalized actress Farrah Fawcett, was arrested Sunday morning for possession of narcotics and for bringing narcotics into a jail facility.

Both Ryan O'Neal and his son have been arrested on suspicion of having drugs in their Malibu home.

An LA Country Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said "Upon searching the premises, the younger O'Neal was found in possession of narcotics. "Later, a vial of drugs was found in the elder O'Neal's bedroom. We believe the drugs found were methamphetamines." Both men remain in custody on $10,000 bail and could be charged with felony possession of narcotics.
