Robin Williams is recovering from heart surgery today in Cleveland, Ohio.
Williams' surgeon released the following statement:
Robin Williams is being forced to postpone the rest of his comedy tour, Weapons of Self-Destruction, to have heart surgery.
A statement was released by his reps explaining that Robin will have “to undergo surgery for an aortic valve replacement.”
He hopes to continue the tour, making up the missed dates, in the fall.

Robin Williams was hospitalized in Florida yesterday after experiencing “shortness of breath.”
The comedic legend has been forced to cancel four shows in Florida on his Weapons of Self-Destruction tour following doctor’s orders but the dates will be rescheduled.

A statement on the actor’s website read, “Williams was experiencing shortness of breath and is currently being evaluated by doctors who are recommending a week of rest.”
While plays are closing right and left, Robin Williams is doing his part to stimulate Broadway’s economy: he’s bringing his one-man-show there.
Following an 80-city US tour, Williams is landing his show, Weapons of Self-Destruction, at the Neil Simon Theater for a limited engagement.
For five performances only, from April 28th through May 3rd, Robin will rule the Great White Way.
