Rocco DiSpirito

Dancing with the Stars pros, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy spent Tuesday afternoon shopping together in Beverly Hills. Now that Maks’ partner Misty May-Treanor is out due to a ruptured Achilles Heel and Karina’s partner Rocco DiSpirito has been sent packing (just the memory of his white boy mambo sends chills down our spine), these two have nothing but time to spend together.

Karina looks so happy!

Awww, they’re totally in the horizontal tango honeymoon phase. Yay them.

Dancing can be hazardous to your health.

Dancing with the Stars has been a rough place to compete this year. During the first week, Jeffrey Ross suffered a scratched cornea thanks to his partner Edyta Sliwinska’s acrylic nails and Karina Smirnoff twisted her ankle while practicing with Rocco DiSpirito. During the third week, Derek Hough tripped and knocked himself momentarily unconscious the day after Misty-May Treanor ruptured her Achilles Tendon, forcing her to drop out of the competition for surgery and physical rehabilitation.

Because we aren’t already battling major voter fatigue, throughout last night’s show election style mud-slinging promos randomly aired. The whole “I’m Toni Braxton and I approved this message” thing was cute but we need a break from campaigning, not a running gag about it.

After weeks of being either bashed or maligned by the judges, Lance and Lacey are chosen to encore their Gothic punk tango. We love the encores because the performers are so much more relaxed and L & L demolish the dance floor once again!

Maurice and Cheryl kick off the show with their samba. The gloves are coming off in blatant vote-getting attempts. Maurice trots out his preciously precocious daughter to lighten the intense mood of learning their routine. At the start of their number, both sporting afro wigs, we couldn’t tell Cheryl from Maurice. In People Magazine she may whine, “Don’t call me fat!” What else do you want us to call you, chub-rock? Big boned?

The show began with a dance in honor of Misty May-Treanor. The routine that sent her into surgery yesterday was performed by Maksim and Edetya. When you watch two of the pros together, it’s such a heavy reminder of just how bad some of these “stars” are. With Maks and Edetya, there are no moments of nail-biting, “Will they pull this off?”; It’s just two minutes of pure entertainment.

Brooke and Derek are the first couple declared safe (duh), followed by Cloris and Corky (WHAT? Sympathy votes should only go so far).

Susan Lucci and Tony Diavolini kick off the night with a jive so tight and controlled, it was like Susan was clenching something between her butt cheeks. We know she’s a soap actress and realism isn't their thing, but she’s so plasticized and stiff, it’s hard to watch. The judges called her “timid,” we call her boring. Tony did all the work. They score a 21 but we’re not impressed and don’t think Susan is long for this show.

Kicking off the show were Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo. After narrowly escaping elimination last week, they busted out a paso doble that earned them a 23. Toni was elegant and regal, but the real star in this pairing is Alec, who commanded the stage.

The first safe couple cpening the show are Lance and Lacey performing a quick step. Once again, it’s obvious this is the couple everyone else needs to be gunning for. The joy on both of their faces when they’re dancing is utterly winning. We love Lance, we want to be his friend, eat Ben & Jerry's together, and play truth or dare. Even if the judges are extra harsh are on them (seriously, Len, chill out), we still think these two are going far.

Last night, Dancing with the Stars returned with a two hour spectacular and within the show’s first minute we already have a problem. Can anyone tell Cody Linley apart from Derek Hough? Those boys were separated at birth by an eyebrow. And really, Lance Bass couldn’t dress for the occasion? Every other guy is decked out, Mr. *N SNYC is in a t-shirt and vest. Boo. Misty May looks HOT and Kim Kardashian looks like the whore she is. Let's take this party to the dance floor.

We told you earlier one DWTS cast member had dropped out.

We can now EXCLUSIVELY reveal that Mark McGrath is Out-Rocco DiSpirito is IN!

Rocco DiSpirito is a celebrity chef and MAJOR smokeshow. Talk about delicious. Yum yum!

There’s been no explanation for McGrath’s exit but we’re incredibly surprised. He needs a major career resurrection; we assumed this would be it (And fade away...). But we’re thrilled Rocco is his replacement! We’ve got a feva for the flava!

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
