It is thanks to PR spin and a journalistic game of “Telephone” that Zachary Quinto landed the role of Spock in the new Star Trek movie.

When he’d just been cast on Heroes, he heard that J.J. Abrams was planning to boldly go…you know the rest. Quinto was giving an interview to his small local paper in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and he mentioned how much he’d like to be involved. Little did he know, one off-hand comment ballooned into a full-on campaign for the role.

Leonard Nimoy, a.k.a. Spock on the original Star Trek TV series, made a special appearance at The NY Licensing Show in Manhattan.

Awesome!

Leonard is reprising his legendary role in the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek film, due out May 8th, 2009. That is bitchin’ beyond words. We can’t wait!

See It or Skip It: World's Greatest Dad

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
