Maura Tierney, 44, will undergo surgery for a breast tumor.

The actress who made her name on NBC’s ER as Abby Lockheart spoke out in a press release from NBC Universal announcing that Tierney was ill and that her treatment would delay the production of her new series, Parenthood, previously scheduled to premiere Sept. 23, but now pushed to mid-season.

Shia LaBeouf underwent extensive hand surgery today following the early morning car crash where he also sustained injuries to his knee and head. The recovery period will knock the actor out of commission for at least a month.

One month, you say?

Hmmmm, aren’t there 30 days in a month? Just enough time for Shia to enjoy some rehab.

No word yet on what this will mean for Transformers 2 which began shooting last month and Shia stars in.
