More Falcore, anyone?

Warner Brothers, The Kennedy/Marshall Company (who produced The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Leonard DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, are in talks to resurrect The NeverEnding Story.

Unlike Clue, we’re okay with that.

The 1984 original was good, but we weren’t a huge fan and since then, there was the 1990 sequel and the 1996 installment, which practically went straight to video so there’s nothing precious to be lost.

Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at the Academy Awards, winning eight of the ten awards it was nominated for. Milk's star and writer were also lauded while The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which had the most nods going into the night, twelve in total, but was only recognized for its visual and technical achievements.

And the winners are...

The London Critics Association handed out their awards last night and their honors weren't a major departure from the critics stateside. With the exception of no Heath Ledger and big love to David Fincher and Steve McQueen, it's pretty close to what we've come to expect this award season: Slumdog, Mickey Rourke, Kate Winslet, rinse, repeat.

The winners were…

The nominees for the 81st Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning by Forest Whitaker and Academy President Sid Ganis at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button led the pack with 12 nominations, followed by Slumdog Millionaire with 10. None of cast members from Slumdog were nominated, and the Leonardo Decaprio and Kate Winslet-vehicle Revolutionary Road was almost totally snubbed, with only one major nod coming in the form of a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Michael Shannon.

The BAFTA Awards, the British equivalent of the Oscars, announced this years’ nominees and our fave, Slumdog Millionaire, got mad love with eleven nominations including one for our boy Dev Patel as Best Actor.

Kate Winslet was bestowed a double nomination once again for The Reader and Revolutionary Road, and so was Brad Pitt who got the nod for both The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Burn After Reading.

A complete list of BAFTA nominees is below:

But Angelina and Brad were undeniably glorious at last night’s premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in Westwood.

Bogie and Bacall, Newman and Woodward, Tracy and Hepburn. …

Jolie and Pitt.

Ummm, WTF?

Cate Blanchett attended last night’s premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in Westwood apparently wearing a Spanx bodystocking that she decided to accessorize with an oversized Christmas topper she ripped off some poor unsuspecting tree.

With no makeup and I-just-went-to-the-gym hair, Cate is a vision in nude.

Is the color choice because she secretly she’s hoping she can pull an Emperor has no clothes?

Sorry, Cate, we can see you and what we see is busted to the max!

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
