Desperate Housewives stars Lily Tomlin and Kathryn Joosten are in talks to star in their own spin-off show.
The pair, both 69, who play scheming sisters Roberta and Karen McCluskey, are negotiating a deal with ABC that would give their Housewives characters their own show.
According to the New York Post, the show is being modeled after The Golden Girls and ABC is trying to convince Housewives creator Marc Cherry to take the helm.

Following her death on Saturday, Bea Arthur’s Golden Girls co-stars Betty White and Rue McClanahan have spoken out to share their fond memories of the seven happy years they spent with Arthur on the series.
McClanahan tells Entertainment Tonight, “[Thirty-seven] years ago she showed me how to be very brave in playing comedy. I’ll miss that courage. And I’ll miss that voice.”
Beatrice Arthur has passed at the age of 86.
Bea, who starred in the ground breaking 70s series Maude and the beloved 80s sitcom The Golden Girls, had been suffering from cancer. She died peacefully early Saturday morning.

In honor of Estelle Getty, Lifetime will air a Golden Girls marathon on July 25 from 12-5 pm. Getty, who played Sophia Petrillo on the sitcom, died yesterday at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 84.
The 10 episodes airing will be Sophia-centric and will kick off with the series’ pilot.
