We are praying to the heavens that this story is TOTALLY UNTRUE!
According to a report in the National Inquirer (which really inspires us to take it with a grain of salt), Steven Spielberg and Drew Barrymore are in talks to resurrect their legendary classic E.T.
Supposedly Barrymore and Spielberg have met to discuss a sequel, which will have E.T. returning to Earth to rejoin the now-adult Gertie, a part Drew played 27 years ago.
Proving that there are no new ideas people are willing to take a chance on, plans have just been announced for Sleepless in Seattle: The Broadway Musical.
Why?
The 1993 romantic comedy, which starred Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, is being adapted by the film’s screenwriter Jeff Arch and aims for a Broadway debut in 2010.
What’s up with all the rehashing?
90210, Shrek, Melrose Place, The NeverEnding Story, Clue, The Karate Kid…
Why is everyone so afraid of a new frontier?

For every one good foreign show co-opted for American TV (The Office, Queer as Folk, Three’s Company), there’s a barren wasteland of shows that just suck (Coupling, Kath and Kim, Viva Laughlin).
Now FOX has decided to take a show that was pitch perfect, Absolutely Fabulous, and remake it for American TV.
As if we didn’t hate this movie enough on principle.
Jackie Chan is reportedly in final negotiations to star as Mr. Miyagi in the bad idea jeans remake of The Karate Kid.
He would play the mentor to Jaden “My daddy starred in Independence Day” Smith.
As everyone knows, the part of Mr. Miyagi was legendarily played by Pat Morita in the 1984 original and sequels. He even earned an Oscar nomination he was so dope.
Oh. My. God.
Ralph Macchio! The Karate Kid!!!
We need a bag to breathe into. And he’s standing next to baseball legend and Hall of Famer, Hank Aaron!!! Are we in heaven? Is this who greets you at the pearly gates and then teaches you to wax on-wax off and slug homers?
There’s only one force of nature so great that these two titans could be brought together.
No, not Oprah…Miley Cyrus.
