T.R. Knight has revealed why he walked away from Grey's Anatomy - and a $14 million contract.
"There just comes a time when it's so clear that moving on is the best decision," Knight told EW Magazine.
Katherine Heigl has managed to convince the folks at ABC's Grey's Anatomy that she loves the show and isn't completely ungrateful to them for launching her career.
If that's the case, she really is a great actress.
T.R. Knight, who plays Dr. George O’Malley on NBC’s drama Grey’s Anatomy, is leaving the show for good.
No Really.
We mean it this time.
It's been a rumor for a while now, but it looks like Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight may finally be leaving the show for good.
Knight plays Dr. George O'Malley on the ABC show and whether his character would live or die was left purposely unknown in this season's finale.
Everybody's looking for a little job security these days, especially actresses who repeatedly publicly bash the television show which made them famous in the first place.
Following rumors last month that she would be leaving Grey's Anatomy with co-star T.R. Knight, Katherine Heigl has announced that she's happy to stay on the show as long the writers don't kill off her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens.
Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes denied rumors that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight were leaving the show at the NAACP Image Awards last night.
"That was a very interesting rumor. And it's not true," Rhimes said. "Things happen, and...I think rumors become fact very easily. And you know I don't like to tell you what's going to happen on the show – but that is a rumor."
Grey’s Anatomy stars Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving Seattle Grace.
Their departure has been confirmed by their co-star James Pickens Jr. who plays Chief Webber on the medical drama.
Katherine and T.R., who also happen to be best friends in real life, have played doctors Izzie Stevens and George O’Malley on the show since it premiered in 2005.
Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight wants out of Seattle Grace.
We can hardly blame him. The show has sucked since the end of season two.
Knight, who plays lovable schlub George O’Malley since the show’s debut, has asked producers to write him off the show.
Details are still being ironed out. (Will he go practice medicine in Sri Lanka or fall down an elevator shaft like Dr. Drake Ramore?) But it seems likely T.R.’s request will be granted, and he will be released from his contract.
Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, who came out as a homosexual man in 2007, has donated $50,000 to a campaign to keep gay marriage legal in California, following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg.
Knight’s donation to the Anti-Proposition 8 campaign will help activists oppose a high-level state vote to ban same-sex marriages after such a ban was ruled unconstitutional earlier this year.
The donation comes days after organizers of the movement accused Hollywood stars of not doing enough for the cause.
Don’t expect to find T.R. Knight, 35, and beau Mark Cornelsen, 19, walking down any aisles just yet – but they are happily living together.
"Mark just moved here from San Francisco," Knight announced at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in L.A. on Saturday. The Grey's Anatomy star wholly dismissed rumors they're planning to wed or that he'll officiate a commitment ceremony.
