Zac Efron's making his first foray into the world of "serious acting" next month when his new movie Me and Orson Welles comes out, and apparently he's happy with the results.

He told Nylon for Guys as much. He says: "It’s the first time I’ve ever watched a movie [that I’m in] and in the end I’m like, ‘OK! I didn’t check my watch once!'"

Okay, people (boys, really), you're gonna get your wish.

Vanessa Hudgens is stripping her clothes off…again. And apparently, she's really excited about it.

NY Daily News points out a welcome development in young Hollywood: the death of man-bangs.

Victims of the unfortunate hair trend included Zac Efron, Chace Crawford and Jared Leto, but they have all cut their hair recently.

They are now officially men. Er, ... as opposed to boys. We never questioned their gender, promise.

No we won't have to see those unnaturally stiff diagonal hair strips covering their pretty faces anymore.

Even when made out of wax, our Zac-y Pooh is the most popular kid in school.

High School Musical star Zac Efron is the most-kissed waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London.

The 21-year-old idol came first in a poll of 300 people, which was carried out by the famous waxworks museum to see which celebrity waxwork figure visitors most wanted to kiss.

"We encourage our guests to get really up close and personal with our celebrities and there is a lot of puckering up," said the museum's PR manager Liz Edwards.

Neil Patrick Harris aka Doogie Houser is a working actor, again!

Hooray!

NPH just hosted the Tony Awards, and now has landed two movie roles.

And neither will feature White Castle, bummer.

Our favorite teen-genius M.D. will be starring in an indie entitled The Best and the Brightest and will appear alongside Vanessa Hudgens in Beastly.

With all the remakes, we want Doogie Houser, M.D. to hit the big screen.

Make it happen, pretty please!

Zac-y Pooh is scheduled to make a cameo appearance on HBO’s Entourage.

He will appear in an upcoming episode airing July 12 for the show’s sixth season.

Filming took place early Tuesday morning at the Beverly Hills Niketown store.

The show, starring Adrian Grenier and Jeremy “Skeez” Piven will also include appearances by Tom Brady, Lil Wayne and LeBron James in various episodes.

We already set our Tivo.

Entourage + our darling Zac = finger lickin' good!

Speaking of stars wanting to avoid being pigeon-holed...

We've already discussed how Zac Efron is trying to shed his High School Musical image to get more diverse work, part of which was dropping out the forthcoming Footloose remake.

Now rumors are swirling that Zac-y Pooh's being encouraged to drop his girlfriend, fellow Disney-star Vanessa Hudgens, because their relationship reminds people too much of HSM.

We were afraid this would happen.

Paramount Pictures confirmed yesterday that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford will be starring in High School Musical director Kenny Ortega's remake of Footloose, which was originally supposed to feature Zac Efron.

Like we've already said: We love Chace on GG but he is no Zac-y Pooh or Kevin Bacon, and we're not sure he can do Ren McCormack justice.

“I don’t think I’ll be cast as Zac Efron’s girlfriend in his next movie, I’m not going to be in a teen movie and I’m okay with that.”

Nothing says, “I love you, Zac,” quite like a swine flu mask.

Zac Efron was greeted by hundreds of fans in Tokyo when he arrived to promote his film 17 Again.

Zac-y Pooh was delayed for an hour inside the terminal as passengers arriving from Los Angeles were inspected for swine flu.

How awesome is it that those masks are both utilitarian and stalkerish?

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
