Meryl Streep

Now, let's talk Oscar fashion. Honestly, there weren't a lot of bad dresses. All of the Best Actress nominees especially looked fantastic.

Above, Gabourey Sidibe was perfectly radiant in blue, Meryl Streep was regal in white, and Carey Mulligan looked as adorable as she is in a pattered black dress.

It seems like they would never get here, but tonight the Oscars will finally be given out. After months and months of build-up and various other awards, they are here. So what are the big showdowns of the night? Let's break it down:

Friday night at the Critics Choice Awards it was the kiss heard around the world! Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock tied for Best Actress, and locked lips to celebrate!

And then they both won again on Sunday at the Golden Globes. Bullock won the Drama award for The Blind Side, of course, and Streep won the Comedy/Musical Globe for Julie & Julia.

Sharon Stone says that Meryl Streep is really ordinary and that's why she's successful. Pity Stone is so attractive, huh?

Meryl Streep is starting a feud with one of the most powerful women in Hollywood... Meryl Streep.

The 60-year-old actress, who's nominated for a Golden Globe for both Julie and Julia and It's Complicated, recently talked about the double nominations on Good Morning America.

It's a good day to be Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, and Matt Damon. (Though when is it not?) All three picked up double nominations at the Golden Globes this morning. And it's not so bad to be George Clooney either. His movie Up in the Air picked up the most nominations with six, including Best Picture, Drama, and Best Actor.

Julie & Julia (opens August 7), starring Amy Adams and Meryl Streep, is partly about pioneer blogger Julie Powell (played by Amy) who records her attempts at mastering the recipes of Julia Child (played by Meryl). So naturally, the talented actresses discuss blogging with USA Today:

Forbes magazine released its Top-Earning Actresses of the year list, based on June 2008 to June 2009 profits (including endorsement deals), and the top spot belongs to (drum roll please) ...

The 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards were handed out last night and the big winner of the night was Slumdog Millionaire (holla!!!), taking home to prize for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Young Actor.

Anne Hathaway was given a major honor as well, by being honored alongside Meryl Streep, the greatest actress of our time, who Hathaway “tied with” in the Best Actress category.

We’re starting to think Hathaway’s performance in Rachel Getting Married is a pretty sure bet in the Oscar pool.

The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award Nominees were announced by Angela Bassett and Eric McCormack (remember him from Will and Grace?) this morning at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood with Doubt leading the pack with five nominations.

F. Gary Gray's latest effort, Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is a knockout! Exhilirating, wry and breathcatchingly paced, it's a stellar accomplishment for everyone involved. Hell yeah you should see it!

Scott Hicks, the director of Shine, and Clive Owen teamed up for this gloriously beautiful if underwhelming project. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that memorable and with such supreme talent attached, I was hoping for and expecting a lot more.

Oh, Diablo Cody, why'd you have to do it? I love you so long...and then you made this. Megan Fox does what she always does, she looks hot. At least there's that. Sophmoric, unfunny and obsessively idiosyncratic, it's a painful movie going experience.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
