The Simpsons Sets TV Record

The Simpsons made television history this week by being picked up by Fox for two more seasons, through its 22nd season, making it the longest running show ever on TV.

The animated comedy, which has won 24 Emmys over the last 20 seasons, was renewed for 44 more episodes over the next two years, which will bring the total number of episodes to a whopping 493.

The previous record holder was the CBS Western Gunsmoke which ran for 20 seasons before going off the air in 1975.

Chocolate and peanut butter. Spaghetti and meatballs. Bobcat Goldthwait and profanity. Two great tastes that taste great together. Gone is the Bobcat of the Police Academy movies and in his stead is a fantastic writer-director who's able to orchestrate the most brilliantly, hilarious vulgarity imaginable. World's Greatest Dad is a fantastic dark comedy (very dark) that features Robin Williams' best performance since Good Will Hunting. See it!
