Tom Cruise Shows Up to Roast Matt Lauer

Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer appear to have buried the hatchet and not in each other’s backs.

Tom made a surprise appearance at Matt Lauer's Friar's Club Roast in New York on Friday, three years after the pair clashed during an interview when the topic turned to psychiatry and antidepressant drug on the Today Show.

The actor insisted he was over the incident, making light of his own public scrutiny. “Matt and I talk two, three, four times a day ... You're the one who told me to talk about Katie Holmes on Oprah.” Tom ribbed before joking, “I can't believe I flew all the way out here ... lose my number, you glib putz.”

But Lauer got his jabs in.

“Why don't you sit down?” Matt asked as Tom exited the stage. “We'll get you a booster seat!”
