Heathers 2 is Winona's Fantasy

Winona Ryder may not be appearing in a sequel of Heathers after all. 

Winona, 37, has often spoken about a sequel to the hit film, where she played murderess Veronica Sawyer, but director Michael Lehmann and writer Dan Waters are not planning another flick.

"Winona brings it up every once in a while, and Dan Waters and I will joke about it, but as far as I know, there's no script and no plans to do the sequel," Lehmann said.

"I never thought it made sense to see a sequel to a movie that took place in a specific time and specific place and in which many of the characters got killed off," he added.

Even with her roles in the recent blockbuster Star Trek and the forthcoming The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, it looks like Ryder may be living in the past. Maybe she can star in The Heathers Musical.
