Zac Efron, the Serious Actor?

Zac Efron's making his first foray into the world of "serious acting" next month when his new movie Me and Orson Welles comes out, and apparently he's happy with the results.

He told Nylon for Guys as much. He says: "It’s the first time I’ve ever watched a movie [that I’m in] and in the end I’m like, ‘OK! I didn’t check my watch once!'"

Hmm. So you mean High School Musical and 17 Again aren't your cup of tea?

Zac, we love you, but please, please, do not go the Disney-turned-Earnest-Prick route, a la LaBeouf.
